Pelican Kids at Trinity Lutheran College is a childhood-educator led playgroup of activities for babies through to 5 year olds. You do not need to be part of the Trinity community to join our early learning program. All Sunraysia families are welcome.
Pelican Kids provides an exciting range of play activities for parents and their children where they can learn new things and bond while participating in fun activities. It is not a childcare service.
Pelican Kids hosts 2 playgroups a week, Nature Time and Story Time.
Nature Time
Outdoor play is an essential part of being a child and encourages children to be more independent, inquisitive, physical and imaginative. Every Tuesday morning from 9:00 am during term weeks we have Nature Time. The children get busy digging in the sandpit, painting with water, searching for dinosaurs, watering plants, filling containers with water and getting wet and grubby. Energetic play is followed by a healthy snack.
Story Time
Pelican Kids also includes ‘Story Time’ at the College library every Friday morning at 10.30 am. This is when we listen to stories in the college library followed by a craft activity. Some stories the children might hear about include a lazy ladybird, a hen and her unhelpful friends and a little girl and her special brown bear that went everywhere with her.
Aside from creating some wonderful developmental and bonding experiences when children are young, The Pelican Kids programs help familiarise children with a school environment and routines.
